The Second Stage tent’s fairly empty again, in this the hottest part of the day, and the numbers are about the same as Blackbud’s similar slot yesterday, and that’s without the temptation of the football.

The Canadian’s are very likeable and have that rather popular new hybrid blend of indie and classic dirty rock and as a heckler informs them Celine Dion came from Canada too, however these guys from Winnipeg are great and both her and Bryan Adams aren’t!

The band remind me a lot of The Jets. Their in time choreographed head bopping is worth watching alone. No idea what the tracks are I’m afraid but the band aren’t taking themselves too seriously but are highly talented. Swapping instruments and one guitarist (there are two) taking on keyboard duties too. They have Beatles style vocal harmonies, they have acoustic songs with Byrds type harmonies and a country influnce one minute then totally change direction to pure indie pop.

For their last song they break into a jam of keyboards, trumpet (!) and bluesy guitar, that sneaks into your foot and demands it tap along. As someone points out in the crowd, "They’re Canadian, so it’s okay to like them." And they’re certainly original enough to gain a following. Canada sure is producing some good bands at the moment.
