The 22nd Herne Bay Festival takes place from Saturday 20th until Sunday 28th August 2016 at various venues across Herne Bay, Kent

This year's theme is going back to the roots and simply 'Celebrating Herne Bay' and all the amazing things the town has to offer, but the annual Lantern Parade with have its very own theme – Rio Carnival, in celebration of the 2016 Olympics.

With huge support from the local community, who host many of the events, the festival offers a programme of over 80 events during the 9 days. Almost every event is completely FREE, and offers all ages the opportunity to watch or try something new. The festival is perfect for families looking to spend some vibrant weekends by the coast, or those who’d like to relax on one of the best coastlines in the area.

Line-up

Herne Bay Live takes place on the evening of Saturday 27th, featuring the winners of Herne Bay Rocks, Herne Bay's Got Talent and the Music Stage.

The Herne Bay Festival is focused along the seafront, but there are other events throughout the town and in the Memorial Park.

Herne Bay lies 8 miles from Canterbury, and can be accessed via the A291. There is plenty of free parking within the town, and numerous car parks close to the seafront.
