Over the years Mike Scott and his different incarnations of Waterboys have enjoyed a special relationship with Glastonbury. They carried that on on the closing day of this years festival with a superb Pyramid set. With three crowd pleasers like Whole of The Moon, Glastonbury Song and Fishermans Blues to end on it was no surprise that the crowd weren't going to let them get away without playing an encore.

The acoustic stage not only served to provide much appreciated shade from the heat that had continued from the previous day. It played host to fine performances from Roddy Frame and Cerys Matthews.

Ex- Aztec Camera man Frame stood alone with an acoustic guitar and played his way through a set of finely crafted songs included the Cameras' Somewhere in My heart and Stray.

Ex-Catatonia singer Cerys has not only undergone a complete change of lifestyle but she has completely rehashed her musical style also. The country tinged style suited her voice perfectly and she looked triumphant as she left the stage to rapturous applause.

In complete contrast Feeder were as frenetic and accomplished as ever. Thousands of happy people in a field bouncing to Buck Rogers was a sight to behold.

Finally it was down to Moby to sadly close proceedings for another year. The choice of closing act for this years festival had met with a mixed reaction. There were lots of doubters about whether the shiny topped maestro could cut the mustard in such a prestigious slot. As we drifted off into the festival village for the last times the dissenting voices had been quietened. Moby never stops flitting across the stage from instrument to instrument. There were tunes to suit everyone. The finishing touch being his acceptance of Thom Yorke's request for someone else to play Creep. A song which he more than did justice to.

The months of waiting and anticipation were over and now it all begins for another year. Well done all at Glastonbury festivals for another wonderful festival. See you next year.
