The fourth annual Eastbourne Festival takes place over three weeks from Saturday 23rd April until Sunday 15th May 2011 to again include a Youth Arts section and other events.

Line-up

A 'Feast of Fiddles' at Eastbourne College, John Renbourn and Robin Williamson, 'Songs of Edith Piaf' with Eve Loiseau, Fiona Barrow, Eddy Jay, John Williams & Richard Harvey, Val Webster, Stick the Fiddle, Lynne Render, Cis Hinkle, Chris Turner, Nigel Close, Paul Garner and June Kemp, Keeping Thyme, Pendragon, Barefoot, on Sunday the English Contra Dance band.

Eastbourne Parish Church will be putting on its usual series of Festival Concerts, this year include Eastbourne's new Early Music Chamber Choir, 'Lux Aeterna', Iain Gibbs, Violin, Janine Willard, Mezzo Soprano with John Wardle, Piano and Organ, songs from the well known Shirlene Billinness, Soprano and Susan Winge-Bicknell, Contralto, Fiona Hosford with her Harp, a programme of Celtic Music with Anita and Nick Haigh and a programme by Practicall Musicke including early music for voice, recorder, violins, viols, organ and harpsichord. The Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra and Eastbourne College Choral Society will be giving their annual concert at St Saviour's Church to name but a few.

Eastbourne Artists will be opening their houses, showcasing a variety of work, Eastbourne schools will be presenting their annual Youth Arts section of the Festival and workshops, exhibitions and theatre from that quarter.

Eastbourne Festival Fringe - Green Fayre

Eastbourne Festival Fringe - Green Fayre will be take place on 7th May 2011 between 12 noon and 6pm, held at the old 'Horse Fayre' location of Gildredge Park. It is designed to bring together our community, offering cross generation activities with a fun, green focus including; musical story telling by Rainbow stories, M.A.G.I.C. music and movement workshops, recycled glass painting, face painting, caricature portraits in manga style, gypsy swing and folk music, Frock n Roll (a fun and free clothes swap), eclectic affordable stalls, information stalls, and food stalls. Local bands Lackadaisy and the Ragati String Band will play the event. Tickets are priced at £7 in advance £9 on the gate, or £15 in advance £18 on the gate for a family ticket which admits two adults and two children under the age of 12.

Programme

The Eastbourne Festival will offer a broad programme of traditional, contemporary and experimental visual arts, music, literature, dance, comedy, film and performance events.

Ticket prices have not yet been confirmed, and are not yet on sale.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are plenty of accommodation options for festival goers in Eastbourne itself.
