Drum Camp Festival takes place from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th July 2015.

Now in its 20th year this established education based world music festival set in the heart of East Anglia at Bungay, in Suffolk.

Line-up

The Anna Mudeka Band, Ballet Nimba, Beats of Polynesia, Bruno Ashley's Mema Arts Choir , Genna Ethiopian Arts and Theatre, Hossam & Serena Ramzy Drumma Queens, Jose Ferrera's Afro-Cuba, Senegambia Allstars featuring Djamil Thiam, Sidiki Dembele, Sefo Kanuteh and Modou Diouf, Simone Sou and Gandaia Arts, Son Yambu, and Yaaba Funk.

Workshops

Over 36 workshops are available over the weekend in percussion and dance.

Facilities

The festive environment has flags, market stalls, open mike stages, and a Cafe with great food, a well stocked bar, DJ sessions each night, and Therapy Zone offering massage, reiki, shiatzu and more.

A (Thursday-Sunday) is priced at £180. An adult weekend only (Saturday/Sunday entry only) ticket is priced at £140. A young person (11-15 years old) Ticket is priced at £80, and a child (4-10 years old) ticket is priced at £50.

The site

The festival site is situated between the towns of Bungay and Halesworth, off the A144, the site is easy to find and all maps and directions will be sent with tickets. Access to the site is from mid afternoon Thursday. The event starts with an opening evening concert programme on the Thursday night. The event ends at 12.00am on the Sunday evening.

The festival has an on-site cafe serving meat and vegetarian breakfasts, lunches and evening meals as well as hot and cold drinks and snacks etc. A separate meat griddle will be also open on a daily basis. Barbecues and camping stoves are allowed for self catering, no fires. Litter bins and skips will be located around the site for rubbish.

Camping

The campsite has ample space for tents, caravans or live-in vehicles. On site there will be ten port-a-loos which will be serviced daily, together with ample water points for washing and water supplies. There is also a four cubical hot shower unit which will be available 24 hours throughout the event. Cars and tents are kept separate.

Campers are asked to leave the site by mid afternoon on the Monday. For those travelling long distance, it is possible to arrive on the Wednesday, but please contact festival organisers first to confirm this as they will still be setting up, and prefer not to have too many early arrivals at this time.

Accommodation

For those not intending to camp, the towns of Bungay and Halesworth are a short drive away, and have numerous accommodation options.

Getting there

For those who are travelling by public transport, Halesworth has Bus and railway stations connecting from London and elsewhere. Buses also go to Bungay which is a short distance from the event, so a local taxi to the site should not be expensive.
