The Dart Music Festival is a popular and widely acclaimed annual event, set in the beautful ancient port and town of Dartmouth, at the mouth of the River Dart, in South Devon. The festival offers an eclectic mix of orchestral, rock, choral, blues, opera, folk, and jazz performances at a variety of indoor and outdoor venues including two churches, the bandstand in the Park, outside the castle, and various hotels, pubs, and restaurants, throughout the weekend.

This year's line-up has not yet been announced but includes both local, national, and international artists, from the obscure to the well-known (the latest news is that The New Machine (an 'approved' Pink Floyd Tribute band) have been booked to headline on Friday). Previous years have included performances from jazz singer, Louise Parker; R'n'B from Ian Briggs & The Supervampers; classical guitar with Alex Knight & Chris Glassfield (big in Japan and Korea); folk from Hoover the Dog; and funk from Kyng Farouk; plus (and just about guaranteed to be in attendance this year too) - the Dart Festival Chamber Orchestra, and HM Band of the Royal Marines.

The Dart Music Festival's motto is Music for All. Since it's inception in 1998, the Festival has attracted thousands of visitors and has become one of the stars in Dartmouth's calendar, appealing to old and young alike. There are many events from individual, group, and local school performances, to storytelling, dance displays and workshops.

Programmes cost around £2.50
