Dance Island 2009
Dance Island returns for its second year, on Saturday 4th July, again just outside of Ely, Cambridgeshire.
Expect arenas hosted by BIG, Tidy, Kiss 105-108FM, Koolwaters, Boomslang, Natural Born Ravers, Disciples of Hardcore, Epidemik, Raindance, Mr Whippy and Roobarb all set in 120 acres of private land for 10,000 people.
Confirmed so far are Drum n Bass superstars Pendulum, headlining with a DJ set from El Hornet and MC Jakes. Also confirmed are Chicane, Utah Saints, Dave Pearce, Lab4, Danny Rampling, Altern8, SL2, The Ratpack, Micky Slim, Darren Styles, Chris Lake, DJ Gammer, Marcel Woods, Kutski, Big Ben, Lee Haslam, Marc Vedo, JB Project, and Nikki Elise.
Dance Island 2009 has joined forces with Dontstayin.com to host its arena for up and coming DJ talent and is offering budding DJs the chance to win a set at the festival's Nu Talent Arena with a 'bedroom DJ' competition where aspiring DJs have the chance to win a one hour set to play at this year's festival. All you need to do to be in with a chance of playing at Dance Island 2009 is record a 20 minute DJ mix of the tracks that best represent your style, burn it to a CD (no links) and send it to: Jason Williams, Dontstayin.com, Development Hell Ltd, 90-92 Pentonville Road, London N1 9HS. All styles of dance music will be entertained and the final date for CDs to be received for entry is Friday, 12th June 2009.
The festival will also have a fun-fair, a food village, a chill-out area and trade stalls.
