last updated : Wed 2nd Jul 03 On 12th July there'll be Outside Now! - a day of outdoor performance in the town centre featuring Barcelona hair-art company, Osadia at the Whitgift Centre; French bellboys, Les Grooms, on the High Street; choreographed trapeze work from Heliosphere in a helium filled balloon; South African marimba and drumming collective Batanai Marimba in North End; and circus troupe, the Flying Dudes in The Queen’s Gardens. There will also be lots of participatory workshops to get involved in. Saturday, 19th July will be a World Party with a latin theme featuring three music stages with artists from Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and the UK. There’s also a global market, green fair, funfair and kids area all at Lloyds Park from 1pm until 8pm. Sunday, 20th July features the Croydon Mela with an a varied artistic programme across four stages including the Main Stage with The Asli Bollywood Band, Panjabi MC, Sonia Panesar and Ravi Rai, Revive, Bapi das Baul and Loveleena. There's also the Nach Arena Dance Stage, Classical Stage, and Community Stage, food and gift stalls and a fun fair.
