Five years after the last Colchester Festival the Colchester Free Festival a one day music and arts festival is held at Castle Park, Colchester, Essex from 11am to 7pm on Saturday 18th September 2010.

Line-up

Main Stage: New Town Kings, Angry vs The Bear, Cav OK, Housework, Vellocetta, The Kuru Smile, Top Deck All Stars, Manic Minor, The Kipling Conspiracy.
Castle Stage: Ady Johnson, Ladybird & The Larks, Greg Blackman, Rev Simpkin & The Phantom Notes, The Jazmine Ava Band, The Medlars, Ghost Train Porters, Ellie Cornell.
Eclectic Garden Party: Ray Keith, Huffle, Stereofreakz, Monkey, Stevee Beatz, Grumb, Malady, DJ Milky & Miss Daphne Kirby, New Town Kings DJ Set, Classic K.
The Workshop Stage: hosts Black Cat Bone, Quire, A Gee, The 633, plus performance from Xtreme Street Dance, Best Foor Forward learning disability group, Valentine Dance, Spirit of the East Belly Dancers, Carol Gale School of Dance street and disco freestyle.

Other entertainment

A hugely successful local arts group hope to provide arts and theatre entertainment, it is hoped there will also be music and dance groups for Belly Dancing, Several Majorette Teams, Seroc, Molly, Morris, etc. Historic demonstrations, an old style funfair will be returning to the park bringing fun for all. Plus stalls offering glimpses of Colchester's life, the arts, diverse culture, and heritage, etc.It is hoped that local historic vehicle owners will bring their vehicles to the fair.

Performance arena

There will be a central arena where groups or individuals can perform or demonstrate their chosen activity. Whether this be dance, dog obedience, martial arts, Tai Chi, whatever.
