Carnaval del Pueblo has been cancelled.

A statement from organisers says:
"The organisers of the Carnaval Del Pueblo apologise but due to unforeseen circumstances with the London Pleasure Gardens going into administration on Monday August 6th, this year's hugely popular event has had to be cancelled, as have all events at the LPG."

After a year off Carnaval Del Pueblo, Europe's largest celebration of Latin American culture will happen as a reduced event on Sunday 18th August 2012 at a new location after London Pleasure Gardens it's intended home went into administration.

Line-up

19 Latin American countries represented, 3 Stages & 2 Tents, 11 Hours of Festivities Special Guests: Fulanito (Dominican Republic) - Merengue, Reggaeton and Bachata star; Tato Marenco - Salsa and Cumbia star (Colombia); Oi Brazil - Samba and Capoeria shows and many more bands. This free Latino festival is expected to run all day from 10am until 9.30pm, with exciting acts on different stages, and other activities for all the family.

The event will feature an International stage, Brazilian stage, Andean countries stage, Reggaeton and Latin Hip Hop stage, Funfair, Children’s area, and free salsa dance lessons.

There will also be a wide range of Latin American, Caribbean and Western food and drinks, traditional crafts and Authentic Latin carnival spirit all around!.

London's Pleasure Gardens

There will be a chance to step inside another world at London's Pleasure Gardens next year, as the team behind Glastonbury Festival's favourite late night entertainment area Shangri-La create a waterside festival site featuring events, live music and cross-cultural collaborations for the London 2012 Olympics, and on until 2014.

During the Olympic period, between 27th July and 9th September they will be creating a festive atmosphere at The London Pleasure Gardens which will be a walk-through experience for people to enjoy walkabout characters, low-profile bands, outdoor acrobats, artwork and sculpture gardens.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
