The Elizabethan family home, Burton Agnes Hall, East Yorkshire, will be hosting a Jazz weekend from Friday the 8th to Sunday 10th of August with live music, picnics in the grounds and children's entertainment.

Jazz bands from the East Riding and beyond will play from a main stage on the lawn. Bands playing will include everything from Dixieland to modern jazz; and big band classics to solo performances there will be something for everyone. The bands have been selected to appeal to all and we are proud to be presenting a fantastic line up of local favourites and the UK's hottest new talent. There will be a different act every hour playing from the main stage. During the day there will be acoustic sets around the grand piano in the Great Hall.

Acts confirmed for 2008 include RevRay, The Joel Purnell Quartet, Cubana Bop, Esther Miller, Tees Valley Jazz Men, Kevin Holbrough, Safari (Saffron Byass), Mad Dog Jones & The Sophisticats, Java (James Taylor), Julie Edwards, Atlantic Jazz (James Corry), Carlos Olmos, East Coast Big Band (Mike Smith), Tombo Trio (Chris Hargreaves), Jenny Bray, Dan Collective, Martin Bennett's Old Green River Band, Octopus, Ben Grossman, Little Big Band.

There will be a bar serving local beer and chilled wines. Locally farmed meat available from the barbecue. The Burton Agnes shops, ice-cream parlour and cafe will be open throughout the Festival. Art and crafts will be on sale in the Crafts tent and children's entertainment will be provided in the grounds. Guests are invited to bring picnics.
