Showcasing contemporary and traditional Scottish culture, from poetry, traditional and classical music, to radical new theatre, cabaret, pop music, dance and film. A celebration of the acclaimed Scottish poet, Robert Burns, Scotland's National Bard.

The eleventh annual festival will be held over Ayr and Ayrshire will take place from Wednesday 30th April until Sunday 3rd May 2012 with many events in Ayr Town Hall, ranging from folk to classical music and traditional through to the latest sounds from the pop scene, to community based shows at venues throughout Ayrshire, attracting audiences from all over Scotland.

Line-up

Friday: Tensheds, and Jill Jackson (ex Speedway).
Saturday: The Complete Stone Roses.
Sunday: James Grant, Fraser Speirs, Chris Thomson, Graham Skinner, and Monica Queen.

Other Festival names include tartan noir author Tony Black and French artist Olivier Grosstete . The brand new Loudoun Proud series will feature Bruce Fummey's 'About Tam O'Shanter', the improvised comedy of Absolute Improv! and an impressive line-up of tributes to the bard plus more. A range of events will happen at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, a truly Roofless display of beacon art projects and street entertainment throughout Ayr town centre as well as community events Ayrshire wide.

The Festival launches with a very special Burns edition of The Great Tartan Turnoot. The festival finale will feature 'Pic-nic' in the Square , an outdoor arena of performance, laughter and pic-nic parties for all!

Tickets

Ticket prices vary depending upon event, many events are free. A live music 3 nighter ticket (Tensheds, The Complete Stone Roses, James Grant & Friends) is priced at £35 for standing, or £40 for seated. To buy tickets, click here .

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
