Offering a week of music performances and workshops on the East Devon coast (just down the road from Sidmouth) for lovers of serious and classical music.

This is the fourth year of the Festival. The programme is planned as follows:
Friday, 25th July: Emma Johnson, clarinet, with John Lenehan, piano at the Temple Church - SOLD OUT.
Saturday, 26th July: Cornish Male Choir from Mevagissey at the Temple Church, 7.30pm.
Sunday, 27th July:Festival services at St. Peter's Church 6pm and the Temple Methodist Church 10.30am.
Monday, 28th July: Mark Bebbington gives a piano recital at the Temple Church, 7.30pm.
Tuesday, 29th July: New Devon Opera production of Verdi's Rigoletto at St Peter's Church, 7.30pm.
Wednesday, 30th July: Counter tenors, Andrew Bowman and Nicholas Clapton with friends present 'Sound the Trumpet' at St Peter's Church, 7.30pm.
Thursday, 31st July: The Henschell Quartet at St Peter's Church, 7.30pm.
Thursday, 31st July: 'Ellingtonia' at the Games Club, 8pm.
Thursday 31st July: singer songwriter Martin Stephenson at The Mill.
Friday, 1st August: Festival Orchestra and Choir conducted by Nicholas Marshall soloist: Marie Langrishe in a programme of Purcell, Bach, Vivaldi and Haydn: Nelson Mass, at St Peter's Church, 7.30pm.
Friday, 1st August: The Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir at the Temple Methodist Church, 7.30pm.
Saturday, 2nd August: Ben Palmer directs the production of Stravinsky's 'The Soldier's Tale' and Walton's 'Facade' with reciters Katie Derham and Richard Baker.
Saturday 2nd August: The Mill hosts Christene Le Doux, the American songstress.

On Saturday, 26th July there will be a concert on the Green given by the Taiko Drums, with Balalaika Band and a Steel Band with young musicians from Exmouth and Plymouth. There are also three concerts planned for late-night owls which will be introduced by Mark Bebbington, commencing at 9.50pm for approximately 50 minutes, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The usual free lunchtime concerts are held nearly every day and include performances from Francis Waters and Josephine Pickering, duo piano (Friday 25th July); Jane Hannah, flute with Margaret Chave, piano (Saturday 26th July); Charlotte Marino, clarinet and Pamela Marino, piano (Monday 28th July); Helen organ, flute and Frances Waters, piano (Tuesday 29th July); Liz Drury, sax and soprano, with Brendan Ashe, piano (Wednesday 30th July); the Beacon Trio (Thursday 31st July); the Courtenay Players (Friday 1st August); and Trio Scintillatum (Saturday 2nd August); plus walks, talks and exhibitions to enjoy.

There will be children's events in plenty. The Exmouth Shantymen are at the Longboat Cafe and there is drama and music for all ages including a great theatre workshop given by ICOS. Reservation bookings are invited though but there is no charge.

If you become a 'friend' of the festival (around £10), you get a free programme and access to all the events. One or two events are limited to 'friends' only.
