Brighton Live is a celebration of live music, bringing together live music venues, promoters, labels, record shops, bands and the music industry to showcase live music of all genres for one week and all for FREE.

The event will run over five days from Tuesday 5th October (launch party night) to Saturday 9th October (seminars, workshops & master classes) in over 20 venues across the city. This year the organisers hope to add an outdoor stage, and more gigs (& instruments) in the most unlikely of locations, for this all ages event with music related seminars.

Line-up

This year the festival are doing things a bit differently with some 'curated' nights alongside the festival's traditional 'open access application' policy for local bands to play. The events at The Foundry have moved to the Rose Hill Tavern.

Curated nights confirmed include BBC Introducing (The Prince Albert), Juice FM (Latest), Radio Reverb (Brunswick), Brighton Source Magazine, The Great Escape and international soul jazz diva Z-STAR (Latest Music Bar).

Concorde 2 will also feature a special flagship event on Thursday 7th with headliners Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly support comes from The Xcerts, Munich, The Agitator, Autumn Red and Jumping Ships.

The festival will also feature local talent including Ramona, Monsters Build Mean Robots, Iris And The Wolves, The Robot Heart, The Valentines, The Toniks, Tallulah May, and Kelly Barnes.

As well as this, Brighton's Sealife Centre's 'music tunnel' is set to host a series of acoustic lunchtime busker concerts between midday till 2pm on Tuesday 5th, through to Friday the 8th where local acts will showcase their music. During Saturday music related seminars, workshops, master classes all take place at the Latest Music Bar.


Free event

Entrance to all the events is FREE. Events include seminars, breakfast, lunchtime and evening shows, all ages shows and an outdoor stage. Plus, expect many more remarkable events which are still in the planning stages!
