The Portuguese biennial Boom Festival 2012 takes place at Idanha-a-Nova, in Portugal near the Spanish border. It is about 250 km inland from Lisboa. The closest Portuguese main city is Castelo Branco. Boom takes place for a week from Saturday 28th July until Saturday 4th August 2012 2012.

The event features music, art, sculpture, video, installations, cinema, theatre around the concept of crosspollination of different art forms for 'a gathering of the psychedelic tribes'.

Line-up

A line-up of international and local acts, plus artists, speakers, actors, activists, performers, lecturers, and more across eight main areas. The programme theme for this year is Alchemy.
