The 5th UK international Boogie Woogie Festival will be held at The Club Room, Sturminster Newton British Legion, Bath Road, in Sturminster Newton, Dorset. from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July, and was formerly the 'Fomag' Boogie Woogie festival held in nearby Fontmell Magna.

The acts confirmed for 2009 include Little Willie Littlefield (USA), Martijn Schok (Holland), Greta Holstrop (Holland), Lasse Jensen (Denmark), Jelly Germain (Cameroun), Virginie Perez (Brazil), Tom Lewer (UK), Stu Pannaman (UK), Alan Edwards (UK) Drums, Julian Phillips (UK), Chris Davidson (UK), Jon Neilson (UK), Howard Meyrick (UK), Patrick Smet (Belgium), Hermaan (Belgium), Liz Neilson (UK), and Russ Barnes (UK). There is also a Youth Show Case concert featuring many up and coming young stars and The UK Boogie Woogie Club will present a slot with their regular talent.

An all event ticket which includes two concerts, Saturday daytime events including The Youth Concert, Sunday daytime and 3 workshops of your choice are priced at £55 for entrance only. There is also a reserved seat ticket for both concerts are priced at £65.

Concert tickets are priced from £25 (children and concessions £22) for a reserved seat to £10-£15 (children under 14 and concessions up to £12) for entrance only. Workshops are priced at £10 for adults and tickets for children under 14 years are priced at £7. Saturday tickets have almost sold out.

Performing in concert will be international boogie woogie and blues pianists from all around the world. There are also workshops in boogie woogie piano, swing and tap dance, drumming, history of boogie woogie and more with special workshops for children. there will also be informal sessions for enthusiastic boogie woogie pianists with a traditional bar room setting. Plus there will be food, wine, and real ales on offer at the inn.
