Fomag Boogie Woogie Festival 2006

Aiming to be a celebration of the boogie woogie genre of piano-playing, expect some of Europe's best exponents of the art to perform.

Already confirmed are: Jean-Paul Amouroux, Jean-Pierre Bertrand, Ricky Nye, Jorg Hegemann. Other pianists include Ricky Nye from USA, Jean Pierre Bertrand and Jean-Paul Amouroux from France, Jorg Hegerman from Germany, Mitch Woods from USA, Patrick Smet from Belgium and Sturminster Newton’s own Julian Phillips. Backed by the sensational Festival Boogie Woogie Band and featuring dancing by the Incredible Tap Dancers from Guadaloup and Camaroun, Philou & Jellie, together with the World Famous Sugarfoot Stompers on Saturday Night.

Throughout the weekend there will be boogie woogie piano masterclasses at Springhead, as well as dance workshops.

Concerts will take place in the Port Regis Hall, Motcombe. Workshops and day events are in The Springfield Trust House and Gardens, Fontmell Magna and cabarets and the piano jam sessions are in The Crown Inn, Fontmell Maga.
