Beached is a FREE live music event held on South Bay beach in Scarborough taking place from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th August. You don't even need a ticket, just come on down to the beach and enjoy the music in the sun (hopefully).

The first acts are confirmed for this year include the headliners for Saturday One Night Only and Sunday Dodgy. Other acts revealed as playing on Saturday and Sunday are The Paddingtons, The Troubadours, The Anomalies, Be Quiet Shout Loud, Billy the Kid, Detroit Social Club, Ebony Bones, Flamboyant Bella, Glamour of the Kill, Heaven's Basement, Hijak Oscar, Idiot Savant, Imma, Mama Shamone, Sergeant, The Bookhouse Boys, The Federals, The Shaiyans, The Trapps, Natty, and The Lancashire Hotpots.

This year Beached has formed a partnership with the BFBS – British Forces Radio and TV, to support the BFBS Big Salute and raise money for five Forces charities helping those who have served their country and been seriously injured or carry other less visible scars.

Big Salute at Beached will take place on Friday night and include sets from The Mexicolas, High Priests, The Domino State, Joanne Ramsay, and Iraq 'N' Roll - a band formed on ops in Iraq. All bands on the Friday night are giving their time for free in order to support the Big Salute campaign.

The event sponsored by JD Sports is also likely to include a film night, a Big Band evening, and over 24 hours of music from the main stage and the Truck Stage.

The festival is aiming to attract all ages and wants to retain a family vibe, although the organisers suggest that some of the acts later on may be less suitable for younger ears.

Please note that consumption of personal alcohol is prohibited on the festival site, as glass bottles and tin cans are not allowed on the beach for health and safety reasons. But there is a licensed bar, wide selection of food and beverage stalls on site, all serving drinks and food in plastic or paper containers at reasonable prices.

To ensure the future of the festival, the organisers do ask for a donation on the day, but it's not compulsory. If you want to donate, there are collection bins at the entrances to the festival site.

For more information please visit the official site.
