BASS (British Art and Street Sounds) Festival, the UK's only month-long celebration of Black music and art, returns to various venues in Birmingham, in the Midlands throughout the month of June with a city-wide feast of urban culture.

Line-up

The first acts confirmed include Junior Murvin, Rodney P, Musical Youth, Steel Pulse, Gappy Ranks, RoXXXan, RTKAL, Durrty Goodz, Vanley Burke, Lady Leshurr, and Channel One Sound System.

Theme

Now in its seventh year, BASS 2012 will mark the 50th anniversary of Jamaican Independence and to welcome the Jamaican Olympic team to Birmingham BASS will have Jamaica as its theme in 2012, with a range of music, arts and fashion events in venues across the city.
