Relative newcomers Porridge Radio have been revealed as one of the headliners topping the line-up alongside JARV IS, and Tricky for the 6th edition of Rockaway Beach which takes place at Butlins resort in Bognor Regis, West Sussex from Friday 7th until Sunday 9th January 2022.
For the details as available please see the line-up page.
Festival founder Ian Crowther said why this year organisers are once again giving equal top billing to a more emerging act: "They just have that - whatever it's called - that makes you pay attention. The songs, the energy, the unmissable nature of how they perform. It's mesmerising," Crowther states on assigning Porridge Radio one of the top slots. "We wholeheartedly believe that they're on their way to being one of the country's biggest bands, and we want to be part of that story by offering them their first festival headline slot. And we know we're fortunate enough to have an audience at Rockaway that will be behind it."
Ian added: "We just didn't know back in January that we'd be one of the only live music festivals of the year. Since then it's been so dark out there, personally and as a music fan. We're now seeing glimmers of light at the end of the tunnel though, and we thought it was important to carry on building next year's festival - to make it as big as we could. With this summer still looking uncertain for so much live music, we'll all definitely need to blow off some steam by then. JARV IS… is somebody we've been trying to get hold of for a few years. He personifies the smart, weird nature of what we're about at Rockaway Beach. We're so happy to finally announce this is happening. We're excited to be putting some good news out there. To be saying that, even if we need to make a few changes, we're very much planning on being back in 2022."
There's still a shed load of other live acts, DJs, late night parties, film and documentary screenings, conversations and quizzes to announce. The weekend has iconic and hand-picked emerging live acts, film screenings, artist Q&As, pub quizzes, guest DJs, a record fair, listening parties, plus Butlins' regular attractions including bowling, swimming, arcade games, and restaurant dining.
Tickets are on sale, currently priced from £85 per-person for the weekend depending on the accommodation booked.
