The South have been announced as headliners at the 15th FREE Darwen Live festival taking place during this bank holiday weekend of Sunday 25th and Monday 26th May 2014 and offering free live music in 17 stages located across the town of Darwen in Lancashire.

Formed from The Beautiful South who split in 2006 when singers Dave Hemingway and Alison Wheeler, alongside lifelong members Damon Butcher (keys), Gaz Birtles (sax) and Tony Robinson (trumpet), came out of retirement and formed the 9 piece band a few years later

On the Sunday night The South will be bringing the main stage to a close with classic songs such as 'A Little Time', 'Perfect 10', 'Rotterdam', 'Old Red Eyes', 'Good as Gold', and 'Don't Marry Her'.

The main stage will also host Missing Andy, The Talks, Doug Perkins & The Spectaculars, The Slydes, The Lebrels, Good Foxy, and Bad Cardigan.

On Monday the main stage is headlined by the previously announced, The SoulTrain - the band specialising in Northern Soul, Motown and classic sixties’ soul, with support from Merry Hell, Jeramiah Ferrari, Nina Baker, Sky Valley Mistress, Rime Suspex, and Josh Kemp.

In addition to the main stage line up, there are acts playing at the seventeen venues that make up Darwen Live 2014, now one of the largest free-to-attend music festivals in England.
