Van Morrison will headline the opening night of the 23rd annual Larmer Tree Festival.

Van the Man, will perform a collection of classics from a 50-year career as well as songs from his latest album 'Born to Sing: No Plan B' alongside classics including 'Brown Eyed Girl', 'Moondance', and 'Tupelo Honey. In a break from tradition (it's usually been Jools Holland) Van the Man will headline the Wednesday night of the five day event which takes place from Wednesday 17th to Sunday 21st July 2013 at Larmer Tree Gardens. Joining Dexys who headline Thursday, Seasick Steve on Friday, and Bellowhead who headline Sunday at the top of the bill.

Saturday's headliners are still to be announced.

Festival co-director and music programmer James Shepard said, "We're thrilled to announce Van Morrison as our Wednesday night headliner - the reaction from our loyal audience has already been overwhelming - it's certainly going to be a night to remember."

Unlike most festivals, camping for tents is included in the ticket price regardless of how many day attending, so even one-day visitors can take advantage of the onsite night club and late night sessions. Over 100 bands and acts will perform on six stages, alongside a comedy club, 150 free workshops and a Sunday carnival.

Already confirmed are KT Tunstall, Johnny Flynn & the Sussex Wit, The Bombay Royale, Gentlemans Dub Club, Phil King, Stone Donkey Pilots, Pronghorn, The Ben Waters Band, Megson, Cowbell, Ruth Theodore, Fran Smith, Manière des Bohémiens, The Beat, Moscow Drug Club, Chris Woods, Flats & Sharps, Larkin Poe, Molotov Jukebox, Keston Cobblers Club, We Used to Make Things, Sam Lee and Friends, Lau, Treetop Flyers, Curtis Eller, The Severed Limb, Clinton Fearon, Blair Dunlop, Marc O'Reilly, Three Cane Whale, The Kilcawley Family, Thomas Ford, and more.

Individual day tickets for Wednesday are priced at £39 for adults, £25 for youth (aged 11-17 years), and £13 for children aged 5 to 10 years.

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £195 for all 5 days, £170 for 4 days, and £140 for 3 days, there are Youth (age 11-17), and Child (age 5-10) options also available. Individual Day tickets are priced at £45 for Friday, £60 for Saturday, and £50 for Sunday. A parking pass is priced at £5 (in advance), a van pass is priced at £45 (in advance), and under 5's are free.

Added to the ticket options available is a week-long holiday pass priced at £210 for adults, £150 for youth, and £75 for children aged over 5, with a dedicated luxury camping field providing hot showers, toilets, a café, campfire and barbecue area.
