The Flaming Lips, & St Etienne for Optimus Primavera Sound

The Flaming Lips, and St Etienne are among the latest acts confirmed for Optimus Primavera Sound which takes place in Portugal, one week after its Spanish counterpart.

Björk will headline with The Afghan Whigs, Beach House, Death Cab For Cutie, Explosions In The Sky, SISKIYOU, Spiritualized, The XX, Jeff Mangum, Yo La Tengo, Wilco, Codeine, Shellac, The Walkmen, Neon Indian, Washed Out, Other Lives, and Numbers Showcase: Jackmaster, Oneman, Deadboy, Spencer, Redinho also confirmed. Expect a line-up of international and local acts. The programme includes a stage hosted by All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP), and another hosting electronic sounds, and DJs as well as live acts, balancing between experimental and dance music.

Like the established Spanish event the new festival will take place on the coast taking place at the Parque Da Cidade, Porto, in Portugal across four stages between Thursday 7th and Sunday 10th June 2012.

On the first and last days of the event, Thursday 7th and Sunday 10th June, Optimus Primavera Sound will put on several free concerts in the city centre.
