Bestival announces final wave of acts

Dengue Fever, Uffie, Caribou, Black Mountain, Jon Carter, and many more have been announced for Bestival.

New acts confirmed for Thursday night's 'Back To The Phuture' line-up and joining Heaven 17, Howard Jones, and La Roux & Dead Guy (DJ Set) are Villa Nah, Kids On Bridges, and Mark Jones (DJ Set).

The final wave of acts playing across the rest of the weekend include Bikini Beach Band, Black Mountain, Council Estate Supermodels, Dengue Fever, Dr Meaker, Dulwich Ukulele Club, Lulu and the Lampshades, Naive New Beaters, South Central, Sunday Girl, and Wax Tailor.

Plus there will be live appearances from electro-crunk chanteuse Uffie, Radiohead's Philip Selway, Caribou, Toro Y Moi, Washed Out, The Very Best, Visions of Trees, Frisky & Mannish, Yuck, Kassidy, O. Children, Think About Life, and morris dancers The Belles of London City.

New addition to the DJ line-up include Jon Carter, Justin Robertson, Matthew Hawtin (Richie Hawtin's younger brother), Trojan Sound System, AGT Rave Cru, Benji Boko, Bobby Friction, Caius Pawson, Chrome Kids, Dave Beer, Deano Ferrino, Firas, Gideon Gold, Issac Ferry, Justine Alderman, Kicks Like A Mule, Kry Wolf, The Loose Cannons, Lord Anthony, Midfield General, Pete Gooding, Phat Phil Cooper, Phil Mison, Rachel Barton, Shepdog, Sink The Pink, Stick it On, The Heatwave, and YasmIn.

There's going to be plenty of action in the Tomorrow's World field (formerly The Village) with Babybird, Joe Worricker, The Fontanas, Lucid, Dawn Kinnard, The Rebs, The Family, Martin Harley Band, Matthew P, King Size Slim, The Half Sisters , Jay Carter, Charley Macaulay, The Moon Music Orchestra, Wight Light Orchestra, The Monitors, The Guy Page Trio, Hugo Frusslinky, The Shutes, Born In A Barn, Blank Beats, Cooly Haste, The Chancers, Sundown City, Jamie Moody, and Revenge Of The Lawn all playing on The Bandstand.

Plus the Gazebo in the Woods will be playing host to Cheviot Hill, Dance Preachers, Me and My Sister, Holly Kirby, Strange Days, Edric Man, The Adventurists, The Big Hairy Band, Matthew Pearson, JC & Angelina, Santa Spirita, The Gramophone, Tankus the Henge, Miss Cecily, and Simon Shelley.

Festival organiser Rob da Bank said, "Bestival is really gonna get off to a flyer on the Thursday night with our new partnership with Back To The Phuture, one of the most forward looking backwards respecting nights out there! From the 80s to the 21st century it's gonna go off. And as ever Bestival is the festival with the most new bands playing from every genre and I'm delighted that we've got a whole raft of new music from Uffie and Washed Out to Toro y Moi, Philip Selway and The Very Best. For this year's theme Bestival will become a world of Fantasy and acts already confirmed include Dizzee Rascal and Hot Chip on Friday, The Flaming Lips and Roxy Music on Saturday, and The Prodigy on Sunday, plus Wailers, Wild Beats, Mumford & Sons, Chic, Tricky, The Temper Trap, The xx, Richie Hawtin presents Plastikman Live, Fever Ray, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Gil Scott-Heron, Chase & Status, Echo and the Bunnymen, Simian Mobile Disco, Delphic, Rolf Harris, Howard Jones, Marc Almond, and of course festival regulars The Cuban Brothers. Plus many more.

Joining host Rob da Bank behind the decks with DJ sets will be La Roux and Dead Guy (DJ set, Magda, Zane Lowe, Audio Bullys, Gilles Peterson, Don Letts, Mylo, Dave Clarke, Erol Alkan, Aeroplane, DJ Yoda, Annie Mac, David Rodigan, Ewan Pearson, Dixon, Greg Wilson, Nathan Fake, Huw Stephens, Mary Anne Hobbs, Jaguar Skills, Joy Orbison, Horse Meat Disco, DJ Derek, and more.

. Bestival returns to Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, and happens for four days next year from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th September 2010.

Adult tickets are on sale priced at £150. Ticket holders aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*.

Children aged 13 to 15 tickets are priced at £75. Age 13 to 15 Child Tickets are for anyone aged 13 to 15 on 04/09/2009. Child ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*.

Age 12 & Under Child Tickets: FREE (ticket required) Age 12 & Under Child Tickets are for anyone aged 12 and under on 04/09/2009. Child Ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*. All Tickets include camping.

As well as the music, Bestival has the world's biggest fancy dress party plus cocktail bars, laughter clubs, a farmers market, kids area, the return of the Afterburner stage, magical moments and more, and is one of the most colourful events on the festival calendar. The fancy dress theme for this year is expected to be announced shortly.
