The Prodigy to headline Sunday at Bestival

The Prodigy have been announced as Sunday night headliner at this year's Bestival.

Electro-punk firestarters The Prodigy will be making the Warriors Dance in front of the main stage on Sunday night for what will be their last show on these shores for some time, and so Liam, Maxim and Keith will be pulling out all the stops to deliver an incendiary experience.

Other new additions to the line-up for 'The Year Of The Fantastic' include The Wailers, Wild Beasts, Howard Jones, Dub Pistols, I Blame Coco, Gentleman's Dub Club, The Correspondents, Charli XCX, Lissie, Our Fold, the Isle of Wight's own Holly Kirby, The Kurves, and Derwyddon Dr Gonzo are all also set to appear.

Plus even more DJs have been confirmed including a super-rare DJ set from La Roux and Dead Guy (DJ set), Magda, Audio Bullys, Gilles Peterson, Don Letts, Arthur Baker, Serge Santiago, Barry Peters, and special guest Zane Lowe playing the expanded Afterburner stage.

Festival organiser Rob Da Bank said, "So, we can finally unveil our Sunday night headliner as Braintree's finest, The Prodigy! Since raving as a young pup to 'Charly' and 'Out of Space' through to caning their new record on my radio show, The Prodigy have been a massive part of my record collection. As far as polishing off the party on Sunday night I can't think of a more explosive finale ... and it's gonna be the last we'll see of them for quite a while on our shores so get in the queue now!"

For this year's theme Bestival will become a world of Fantasy and acts already confirmed include Dizzee Rascal and Hot Chip on Friday, The Flaming Lips and Roxy Music on Saturday, plus Mumford & Sons, Chic, Tricky, The Temper Trap, The xx, Richie Hawtin presents Plastikman Live, Fever Ray, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Gil Scott-Heron, Chase & Status, Echo and the Bunnymen, Simian Mobile Disco, Delphic, Rolf Harris, and Marc Almond, dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip, Ellie Goulding, Fat Freddy's Drop, Flying Lotus, Four Tet, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Stornoway, Tinie Tempah, Vitalic, and of course festival regulars The Cuban Brothers. Plus many more.

Joining host Rob da Bank behind the decks with DJ sets will be Mylo, Dave Clarke, Erol Alkan, Aeroplane, DJ Yoda, Annie Mac, David Rodigan, Ewan Pearson, Dixon, Greg Wilson, Nathan Fake, Huw Stephens, Mary Anne Hobbs, Jaguar Skills, Joy Orbison, Horse Meat Disco, DJ Derek, Gregs Greats, SBTRKT, Ramadanman, Seth Troxler, Untold, The Broken Hearts, and Back To The Phuture.

. Bestival returns to Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, and happens for four days next year from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th September 2010.

Adult tickets are on sale priced at £150. Ticket holders aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*.

Children aged 13 to 15 tickets are priced at £75. Age 13 to 15 Child Tickets are for anyone aged 13 to 15 on 04/09/2009. Child ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*.

Age 12 & Under Child Tickets: FREE (ticket required) Age 12 & Under Child Tickets are for anyone aged 12 and under on 04/09/2009. Child Ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*. All Tickets include camping.

As well as the music, Bestival has the world's biggest fancy dress party plus cocktail bars, laughter clubs, a farmers market, kids area, the return of the Afterburner stage, magical moments and more, and is one of the most colourful events on the festival calendar. The fancy dress theme for this year is expected to be announced shortly.
