Summer Sundae Weekender announces The Musician Stage line-up

with Foy Vance, Kathryn Williams & Neil MacColl, Chris Helme, David Ford, The Heavy and more

Summer Sundae Weekender have announced the line-up for who will be playing at De Montfort Hall and Gardens, Leicester from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th August.

The Musician Stage brings diverse, established, burgeoning and local talent to the Summer Sundae Weekender and is programmed by a venue in Leicester called The Musician. Newly confirmed acoustic acts include Kathryn Williams & Neil MacColl, ex Seahorses lead singer songwriter Chris Helme, David Ford, and Belfast's Foy Vance.

The Heavy will be bringing their retro nu funk rock, El Machico promise a fusion of latin and funk and Ictus some ska funk rock pop on The Musician Stage.

Other highlights include winners of the Glastonbury band competition The Travelling Band, James Maddock lead singer of US band 'Wood'. There will be opportunities galore to see new talent as City Acoustics Club will be introducing six acts they've seen alongside Dan Raza, and The Musician Stage will play host to the two winners of The Shed's Original Band Showcase.

Other artists confirmed include Dead Slow, C*Bob and the Sunshine Blues, Calder, Catherine Tran, Stevie Jones with Mark Gill, Joel Owen, Dan Arborise, Maximum Danger Project, Leicester All Skas, Special Ed and the Shortbus, Uncle Frank, Dawson Smith & The Dissenters, Longhorn Slim, John Budding, Greg Gent, Andy Whittle, and Small Bear.

Aslo confirmed as playing at summer sundae is New York folkie Dawn Landes who has been added to Saturday's main bill.

They are the latest additions to an eclectic bill of acts so far confirmed who include headliners Supergrass, and The Coral – Acoustic Set, with support acts including Simian Mobile Disco - Live, Roisin Murphy, Whitest Boy Alive, John Power, Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, The Heavy, Lightspeed Champion, Reverend And The Makers, Henry Rollins, José González, Joan As Police Woman, Howling Bells, Dodgy, Tom Baxter, King Creosote, Of Montreal, Nina Nastasia, Jeffrey Lewis, Rachel Unthank, Dengue Fever, The Count & Sinden, Dirty Projectors, James Yorkston & The Athletes, Royworld, and more. Day tickets are now available priced at £40 for Saturday and Sunday and £35 for Friday. Weekend tickets are on sale, and the prices are as follows:-
