The spoons in Caversham was nice last year. There was no one from the festival in there despite being closer.

ive only gone to the one in town, which isn't too far, where do you go from the main entrance to get to this other one?

Left out the main gate, past the leisure center, carry on till you reach the bridge over the river, follow the road round to the right and when you get close the pub is signposted

a group of us were thinking of going to the pub wednesday thursday night and when they shut back to the camsite to drink on. So are people thinking last oders 11.00 or 12.00 near to the festival?.

the purple turtle shuts at about 2 - 3 and other pubs vairy. Most of them would close at about 12 though

Purple Turtle's pretty goodish, if what you're looking for is a pub/club with a sticky floor and alternative music. Beer's pretty cheap.

I'm signed up to Revolution vodka bar's mailing list and they keep sending me out 241 vouchers on everything. Gonna head down there and get a pizza and some awesome cocktails for hugely reduced prices.

Check out the Oakford Social Club near the back entrance of Reading station, they have live bands on Sundays.

Oakford is bad ass, probably the best place in town.

Purple Turtle will be the obvious choice for the average reading festival punter though

will deff make a trip to caversham on the first day - normally just go to town and go to spoons for a few beers and some food during the day on thursday time for a change this year
