bandmiguelin
Just don't go to spoonies lol. For the record Pavlovs dog is a nice enough bar for the thurs, its just far enough away so it doesnt get insanely crowded

t8yman
depends on your definition of "nice meal" we spend 50% of the weekend in "The Pond House" on oxford road (1 street back from the orange entrance) the food is good, cheap, but not special. pies, steak, brekkies etc. loads of big screens too. very very friendly staff. dakyras
I don't care where it comes from, or how it's been cooked, but you can't beat a Wetherspoons cooked breakfast.

Ashaz42
Reading local here: Riverside is good for a nice meal. It has Old Orleans, Chillis, Wagammama's, Yellow River and erh... Macdonalds. There's many a good pub around Reading. Pavlov's is nice is said. The Turks is a bit out of the way, but very nice. There's also the Cornstore near the station, but I'm not sure if it does food. tHomBleached
There'a a great pub up the road from spoons (up the hill - at the top) can't remember the name of the pub, it's fairly small but because it's at the top of the hill it doesn't get to busy. Great cheap food, family run, very friendly

tHomBleached
It's the usual festie menu, but it was the best full english I'd had in ages, cooked properly, and I didn't mind waiting a while for it.
Kagayama
Riverside i do agree is a gd spot. Last year i went into the Pitcher and Piano. Only 'cause i get discount on everything. Mediocore to say the least.

Budweiser
Screw the orical, head down to cav and go to one of the pubs instead of those chain bars. The Griffin (over the brige, first right then on the left) has a very good rep for food.
