I am looking at who is playing Download and Reading/Leeds and trying to think who they are likely to add to the bill. Maybe Slipknot, Tenacious D and Dillinger Escape Plan?? I would love it one to be Rob Zombie, but I reckon thats unlikely.

Me too!! I saw White Zombie at Donnington in 95 (I think) and then after at Brixton (again, I think.. memory! ). I would love to see him perform again! It would make my weekend!

I can see all the names you mention as possibles too. RiP/RaR seem really varied (which is a good thing). I am primarily going to see Rage Against the Machine and the other slightly more metal bands, but I love that there are alot of artists/bands there that I normally wouldnt listen too. I find that I usually come away from festivals with a few new bands I am interested in. Sigur Ros would be good too.. very different and ambient, but would make a welcome addition from me anyway They are playing Connect 08, so maybe....??

I dont know about RiP, but at Novarock last year we had to give a 5 euro deposit and we were given a bag to fill up with rubbish. We exchanged the bag for the 5 euros on exit.

Anyone know how much drinks were last year? and whether there was a cocktail stall??

I don't suppose anybody who's been before knows how far the coach station is from the festival site? My group are heading to Prague at 8am on the Monday to continue the festivities, and need to know how long we need to leave it, and whether it's walking distance.

I woiuldn't call Nuremberg a small town (like half a million people living there), but other than Avnon has it about right. There are far less rules at RaR (glas bottles for example), the campoing grounds open earlier (a week in advance as opposed to a day (thursday) at RiP) and the audience is a bit older and less annoying (doesn't matter that much if you go to a hotel).

didn't spot that thanks! stuck this years bands into last years times, how easy is it to switch between stages, can be hard to get near the front? are there pit passes etc?

There were definately some cocktail bars last year. Also the odd stall selling wine.

Lager was mainly becks, becks and becks although there was one stall selling some "interesting" beer.

Is it me or is this thread the best source of English speaking Rock Im Park info online? With that in mind, how easy would it be to get from Nurembrug airport to the festival site? How would I go about that, would it be via the city itself? Train/coach/bus etc?

Hey! ive never been to rock im park, just wondering if theres any good places to buy sleeping bags, tents etc in Nurnberg?

i also want to double check that i will be able to see RATM and the prodigy on the same night, even though they are both headliners?!

if i can that will be amazing!

and if anyone has any hints and tips for first time go-ers that would be very much appreciated.

Hi, we are six norwegians going to Rock im Park this year! ;D

Coming down on wednesday, so just wondered on when the camp was opening? Was it thursday? If thursday, what to do that night?

And anyone up for a scandinavian camp or something?

Btw, love the line-up!! ;D
