In fairness, they headlined Green Man last year and Truck the year before. They're by no means small. I just think they're a bit small for forwards. Also with da yout (as I seem to be the only person below the age of thirty on this forum) Loyle Carner is bigger than Wet Leg. And I'd also say that SE and Jamie xx are bigger with their 30+ audience than Wet Leg are with 'da yout'

I'm guessing Line Up at 11 (but I've said that before) so lets see what the undercard is like

Did they really? Well that passed me by.  Maybe their Glasto spot doesn’t mean too much then.  Some of the names linked are decent enough so fingers crossed it’s enough to sell well

I’m surprised anyone thinks Wet Leg are that big.  They were middle of the day at Glastonbury (as that’s the example being used) and they’ve not got any bigger since.  If they happen to headline this, it’s a very weak booking.

i thought it was only me that has missed the wet leg hype train, saw them last year, very meh.

They are also headlining the introductory day of Primavera Sound in Spain this year.

To give you idea of how prestigious that is the two previous acts to do this were Caribou and Pet Shop Boys.

To be fair Pet Shop Boys would be a solid Forwards headliner.

Pet Shop Boys would be far better suited to the ampitheatre by the harbour.

To small for the Pet Shop Boys. PSB are a way bigger live draw compared with OMD who are playing Bristol Sounds this summer.

For the first year I'll be missing forwards as I'm off to shambala.  I was dreading a fantastic line up and have to say im relieved as this line up is very average.  Lots of great bands but seen a lot of them before in previous years.  The only one im gutted to miss are Viagra boys.

Where did you dig this one out from ?

wonder why Kae, De La Soul, Panic shack aren’t on official release?
could have fallen through , or maybe just not fully confirmed at time of going to press ?

Alan McGee on Instagram - looks like he's now taken it down! It says DRAFT all over it, so probably work in progress for next update.

Its also missing Maribou - a pretty big name to be gone!

McGee has now posted the official version, do we're none the wiser on whether any of the other names may be added or got dropped / replaced

I reckon they just changed what they wanted in the initial announcement

I'd say things have significantly changed since this poster so would take with a pinch of salt - for example De La Soul are playing in the states on the Saturday so very unlikely to play over here the next day

    • some point this week the insta post says
    • I guess we should also not underestimate that the Slowdive sound person is probably not quite used to open-air daytime performances in such a large, open area. 🙂 I imagine it's very different from mixing the sound in a tent. Plus, even though I was openminded about it at first - you never know how things might sound or work out in a different setting if you don't try - I just don't think their sound is very suited for this kind of setting, it really benefits from darkness and a nice light show and all that. Still, nice that they got to give it a try.
    • i agree, was really disappointed by the Slowdive sound (we were fairly close to the podium) also if you consider that for all other main stage acts i saw they got it perfectly right.
    • Thanks man for sharing your thoughts. I would say i generally agree with you and do agree people close to the podium should position themselves further back if they want to have full conversations and apparently are not interested in the music; to fair it is mind boggling these people are even there as chatting gets so much easier in the back field. That said i did not really have the same experience as you, front rows for example at MBV, Men I trust, Big Thief, NewDad, Slowdive, where really into the music.    yes i BBK is really high on our list but we just realized it is next year 25 years of Primavera so perhaps we do one more.
    • When does the Thursday lineup get announced? I see they had Moonchild Sanelly and Young Knives last year, would be cool to get something along those lines again.
