I think it would be reasonable for the festival to have concerns about lyrical content, because that wasn’t some periphery factor - they were central to his image and the way he tried to court attention. Honestly, some of his stuff is pretty inexcusably toxic, including some of his top hits. That said, I wouldn’t be clutching my pearls if he was booked either. It’s the festival’s call and I’m fine with whatever they decide, really.
