I'm wondering if the Sex Pistols with Frank Carter could headline a day?

They might be but they sold out 3 nights at Hammersmith Appollo last November along with a few other UK dates and are doing 2 nights this year at the O2 Arena. I think Mitski done a similar tour of 4 nights at Hammersmith and almost the same other select UK dates. I don't think she has ever done anything as big as the O2.

 

I really don't understand what is the right size act for APE and don't think they even know ☺️ They dont seem to have a standard size. and do seem to flip flop in their bookings. They booked Jungle and Dermot Kennedy in recent years and I would suggest Cigarettes after Sex are more popular.

 

Cigs have grown in popularity in the UK in a short period of time. A few years ago they used to play venues like Sheperds Bush Empire. Put someone like Bleachers on the other stage and it would likely sell as well as many acts APE have had in the past. They might be a bit of a wild card but seem to be the sort of unexpected headline booking that APE might book. 

 

I did seem surprise me when they booked the O2 but they seem to have sold well.

I saw a mate go tonight and completed forgot about it all with other stuff going on to be honest. I'm not sure Moby could headline is but I could see him doing the second stage like Charlotte de whitte did.

Not sure Moby would sell too well honestly, no worse than plenty of other acts they have booked I guess.

 

The o2 date didn't sell out if i recall

Doesnt look like he's touring, EP is only 4 songs. This EP seems to be implying a hiatus in the write up.

Field Day is moving out of VIctoria Park

Regardless - Charli is bigger than it and would just do her own day now (likely with weak support too).

 

Once her upcoming arena shows are done she will no doubt be announced for something to start flogging tickets off the brat summer hype asap before it dies down.

He would be great on a bill with the likes of Ezra Collective, Young Fathers... possibly even Raye. Not sure if headline material though. I saw him at The Piece Hall this year. Flawless set, despite torrential rain, and lovely duet with Lianne La Havas.

Ezra Collective would sadly not shift tickets atop the bill - but having seen them the other night in Leeds, can't think of many bands better suited to headline a big summer gig like this. Vibes for days, as the kids say.

From what I gathered, it was a ropey crowd but a very good show for the APE gigs.

 

Seems the ballpark for him, I guess. Part of me had wondered if - with a stonking support bill - they might gamble on BST for him, but think it's too large, especially with a full UK tour this autumn.

Nick has had to scale back his arena tour due to lack of sales. My nosebleed seat has been shifted forward because they're curtaining off the back rows. Absolutely no chance he would do BST.

Where's that at? Was under the impression the two shows at The O2 had sold well - the first was certainly billed as sold out.

Interesting. Top tier still open at Leeds, and while there are plenty of seats, does look to have shifted more than I thought.
