Labour conference starts tomorrow...mix of celebration, doom and gloom, f**ked up optics, same old sleaze, and a generally bad start. They need to set out what they're actually trying to do in the various speeches. Not looking great for budget either. Wealth taxes are tricky, they haven't worked very well when tried elsewhere, and people with massive wealth are just f**king off already. Businesses also worried about tax rises and investment drying up and that kills growth. Reeves should really break manifesto pledge and stick up income tax but she won't because trust and promises and democracy bollocks. At some point someone will have to be honest, we need higher taxes because we are on an unsustainable path, and that will have to come from the main taxes, closing funky loopholes or targeting non doms or raising cgt or inheritance tax isn't going to come close.. Maybe that will be after the next election when we have a hung parliament. -
would be quite a busy week for a geezer in his 70’s… besides, he’s not Cher! 😂

Can we move this all back to the headliner thread? I think quite a few of us like this thread being relatively on topic with new tour announcements.

Yeah I get that. I do find I enjoy and like the less corporate feel of the live nation events like Glastonbury and 2000 trees. I’d imagine Bloodstock and ArcTanGent have a similar vibe. I do feel Download had less of a corporate money grabbing feel than say BST or R&L though and like they do slightly care with better food options and all the cool stuff they put on outside the arena for campers. With Green Day rumoured I’d love the other headliners to be Pearl Jam and NIN with Korn headlining second or subbing at some point so would be cool if they can reach the middle ground and appeal to both audiences. I think if they did that they could get up
