YM@6 are about the same as Shikari, both do small arenas/large academies like Shikari. Actually don't think that Shikari has sold well as they haven't even managed to sell out standing for any of it's shows yet.

Didn’t realise they were playing venues that big, quite shocked. Feel like they were an academy band that didn’t sell out academies.

I get that but if you’re able to go see Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy at R&L and Download next summer with probably bigger supporting acts than you’re going to choose to do that than pay a similar price for YMAS.

They’re gonna have to have a stacked undercard for them to charge that for a headliner you’d pay £30-40 to see at their own show. I feel at this stage they need to be getting arena bands/big tour bands to headline that people will pay £50-60 to see.

I think I was just expecting Avril so to get YMAS would be a poor showing as I did want to do Slam Dunk next year and hoping for a bit more but it’s becoming almost as expensive as a whole weekend at Glastonbury or Download to do 1 day with travel and accommodation, that along with the issues they always seem to have - queuing may put me off but I want it to succeed as it’s independent and is the music I like, weird for an independent but sometimes it feels like a corporate money grabbing affair. Let’s hope for a strong first announcement.

Anyone know what time it is?

Slam Dunk is money grabbing, Trees are going the same way. The only independent part is them advertising that now but if they want to not price people out....I know it sold out last year, then they need some sponsorship to get acts they should be. Slam Dunk is not a £100 festival by any stretch and I waited to grab a ticket based on that. I did the same for Blink..I didn't nor could afford to grab one but I don't regret that. I have to also get a hotel next year due to not being able to get back from Hatfield Saturday night and it's just not worth the money. Give me Avril and Rancid and I'll do it, give me YM@6 I'll save my money for Green Day where Rancid are probably part of their tour.

YM@6 played one arena tour ages ago with ATL who were clearly the bigger of the two. They've done an 02 arena one off aged with no other show.

You Me At Six done Cardiff & Nottingham arena in January with Waterparks I believe, but neither sold out.

Its another one of those cheaper to do bigger venues. They probably ticked off Nottingham only too as they knew they were doing SD. If they are there okay but not as headliners. At least do like YM@6 and Avril or Rancid as headliners and wack I Prevail as a big sub on the main stage a bit like Dropkicks under Sum 41.

Is trees going the same way? A weekend ticket for around £150, it’s one of the only festivals that let you take your own alcohol into the arena too

It is but the price rise is mad! £70 for a trees day ticket now?, they just don't book bands big enough imo to allow for it. Bearing in mind, it's going to he cheaper before a lot of lineup in booked. The alcohol is good but not if you are driving and not there for a weekend. Based on that the alcohol presents no value.

You Me At Six played Bournemouth in August and it wasn't sold out. It was pretty full, but there were still tickets available on the door, as I know a couple of people that got them. Arguably you could say it was a harder sell at that time of the year, as people have spent out on festivals etc, but the way they billed it, it felt like it was being billed as an underplay.

Supposedly from someone in the Slammy FB group the poster was on SD's story for a split second yesterday and it was ymas and FoB headliners

They did a thing with all the posters from previous years rolling and I think they probably saw an older one.

It's 65 quid for a day ticket or 36 for an evening and given that it's 50 quid to see Gaslight on their own tour, that's pretty good value.

Having read the thread, I just want to say I get why people are a bit like ymas headlining is meh or its just alright not anything special, to an extent. I know they fell away after cavalier youth for a few years in terms of album quality and ultimately losing their way with "the scene"...which leads to popularity/ momentum downfall.

But honestly they are a very very good live band, I myself have seen them a few times over the years and haven't been disappointed, my only criticism would be that they could have more stage production in their sets instead of just going big on lights etc. Their last two albums Suckapunch and Truth Decay are a real return to form which I think gets overlooked when people see their name branded about.

I would not call myself a hardcore fan of theirs but I do think they get an unfair rap at times.

If they were to do like a toyc and cavalier youth mixed set since its their anniversary years, maybe some sinners and hold me down hits; essentially a throwback set, then add in some solid stage production I think that would go down very well.

You pay the extra money...not worth it for me personally not to risk watching a band in the rain. I find Trees undercards usually underwhelming but it's not a direct festival for me.
