I thought Machine Head were doing this? For a more mainstream metal fan would Bloodstock be worth doing? I’m trying to go for more independent festivals next year. I want to go to Trees but work clashes with that so just trying to find the best independent options out there.

Outstanding. I like all of those bands other than Megadeth. I think this will be my first Bloodstock.

absolutely it would be suitable for a 'mainstream fan'!

it seems nowadays that bloodstock has tamed a little, and is what download used to be in the 00s, download is what reading used to be in the 00s, reading is what v festival used to be. it's like there's been a shift in appeal. bloodstock gets the balance right i think, i have a lot of friends who go who are really casually into the genre and some friends who live and breathe metal.

what kind of music do you like? in terms of independent festivals you have so many options - you could do damnation this november as an all-dayer, outbreak in june, would you be open to travelling abroad?

Got back last night from Bloodstock, overall, a really solid weekend. I’ll admit though, the heat battered me big time. I think it did a lot of people, but it’s better than rain!
