The sign first appeared in 2010 IIRC as it had a ‘40’ at the end of it that year.

I can recall the ribbon tower in 2011 as I  some friends went up it….would imagine it was there beforehand - perhaps 2008?🤷‍♂️

The tower was definitely there in 2008, because I went up it - and that was the last time I went to the festival. I can’t remember if it was there the year before.

It’s weird to see the Park become such an integral part of the festival, because I spent a lot of time up there in its first year (2007) and some of the acts attracted crowds that barely reached triple figures (though the weather certainly didn’t help).

The Ribbon was definitely up in 2007, met my mates there when I arrived that year. Also Park Stage first year, i remember Chas & Dave on it that hazy Friday.

Lost Vagueness & the Chapel etc was still there too. No advertised nightlife tourism with a oneway system, you could have a BALL with no queues, room to breathe & roam in a non-dull persons safe space
