BigMarv
Yep, not on the prohibited items list. Surely not that difficult to change that. Does this include haribo packets!?

BigMarv
Just now, clarkete said: Don't start that 😉 People have only specified glass and crisp packets above. I'm serious. Tangfastics are integral to my festival experience.

Hey I didn't doubt your seriousness, it's whenever there's a drama and there are questions about potentially broadening it to other areas 😄
KnowingScooby
Massive pile of crisps at Sticklinch gate. It’s so strange they’re after crisp and glass.

Dave_c
I walked into worthy view with a bag for life full of big bags of crisps, clearly visible, and nobody said a thing.

fightoffyour
I've heard that Bastille Dan will be distributing all of the confiscated mini cheddars in WG tomorrow
themuel
This confused me so much on the way in. Glass or crisps?! Weirdest question I’ve been asked on the way in. the pile of crisps made me laugh.
BigMarv
Same question at Worthy View. Very odd.
Alvoram
Sticklinch security were confiscating every bag / multipack of crisps. Huge pile of the ‘contraband’ behind their bench. They said it was due to the effect on the cows!!! Literally claimed that it had led to health problems with the dairy cows!!! I shit you not! Then, imagine my disgust when every convenience store, and Co-op, were all selling that same brand of crisps mentioned earlier in the thread!!! #SellOuts
Alvoram
UPDATE: Crisp ban revoked!! have just spoken to some lovely stewards who explained that it was a ban on the Sticklinch fields particularly, (and presumably any others owned by the same farm) specified by the farmer that owns those fields. Hence crisps still being available to buy elsewhere. But that ban has now been revoked and anybody arriving today can bring as many damn mini cheddars as they please… (not that they’re crisps in the first place!!!)
philipsteak
Yeah I think he got told we're paying you lots of money for your fields, deal with the crisp packets.

waynewdk
Apparently a lot of Stewards confiscated a lot of weed and then got the munches
NorthernSoul52
Well, those crisps would have been useful.
Alvoram
I never did post an update to this... The ban being revoked was because it was never intended for the public in the first place. It was intended for the caterers on Sticklinch. They weren't allowed to sell crisps that were not bought at the in-fest wholesale area... (Where they had a specific brand in compostable bags.) So there you have it... The rule was that caterers couldn't bring crisps on site, but could buy the compostable ones from the wholesale market on site... Somehow this got confused by security to mean that we couldn't bring crisps... No biggie, mistakes happen. They even saved all of the confiscated crisps at the gate for people to go back and collect them if they wanted.

Hopefully a food bank in the end if they weren’t collected

March Hare
This thread is mad 😂 If you’ve had crisps taken off you by security then ask the festival for your money back. Quick letter to head office should do the trick
JohnTheScientist
I actually saw a big bin full of unopened crisp packets at gate A mid wednesday morning so I think it was happening at one point 😂
waynewdk
I went back collected them all, opened them all it was like winning the lottery, it was like the old days when walkers used to put £10 notes in
