Interestingly, the only crisps being sold on site this year are some biodegradable packaged ones, might have been Two farmers (just look on twitter for crisps and Glastonbury) but I reckon security were just being oddballs, sorry @FloorFiller

Absolute joke at gate A this morning, every single person had their bags turned over loads of crisps chucked in the bin, massive waste when people are literally starving. Was like shit Tetris trying to get everything back in my bag

Honestly no wind up. Asked if I had food, crisps specifically. Literally searching every inch of everyone's bags. Unless they've been told to speed it up since 8am it was genuinely happening earlier on

That would only seem to make sense if there had been some "intelligence" that it was being used as a method to get something on site - but given the widespread presence of coppers and security these days it's not that common to see anything being sold, plus you'd have thought they would have told people in the queue.

Absolutely not a wind up. We had the same at Gate A around 8am. Quite thorough searches, went through my bumbag, daysack, backpack asking for crisps and glass.

It's 100% true. They are taking all crisps in the foil/plastic packs. Apparently they are difficult to pick up, they blow in the wind and the cows eat them. There was loads and loads even at Sticklinch gate.

Well that certainly makes more sense and this story specifically refers to packets, but seems odd they didn't simply include that in the information in advance....
