you might have heard of the Hipgnosis Songs Fund, which has been buying up the publishing rights of lots of artists list here. it was started by nile rogers and Merck Mercuriadis, and a lot of the money has come from the church of england.

because they can get future money right now.

I have done some work on the fund accounting in the past. The valuations models used by the fund are pretty interesting.
