I was only there 12 hours, in work today and fine. 

What happened was (Jethro voice) I had a severe allergic reaction and went into a state of anaphylaxis after eating a vegan hot dog. Looked a bit John Merrick. As I say, all fine within 12 hours. Now the proud owner of an epi-pen. I'll send a pic but won't post it here for reasons of anonymity and spoiling the John Belushi doppelganger myth.

Do you know what the ingredient was that triggered it? Or is this now your excuse to never eat vegan food again? 😄

Possibly carrageenan. https://www.annallergy.org/article/S1081-1206(18)31141-4/fulltext 

Could have been sunflower seeds, but I've consumed these before in various forms, so seems unlikely. It does tend to trigger reflux if i have sunflower products. Sesame, peanuts and other nuts trigger reflux with me too. Lots of craft ales can also trigger reflux, which is how this incident started. Just felt like acid reflux, then got progressively worse.
