I did same in 1998.

Only thing I could get was army surplus boots (with steel toe caps) a size too small. Have been team welly ever since.

good lord, it was before my time of attending but I had friends who went in 1998 and I know it was 100 times worse than 2004.

I've always been team boots (high-top) with a pair of shorts.

Friend works at Beeb and has just sent me the BBC Weather internal advisory for staff for the weekend (not posting full copy so they don't get in trouble).

It's not the same as the website though - much more in keeping with what we're seeing from the models. Key bit - Friday and Saturday 'generally unsettled' with 'growing risk of showers or longer spells of rain' Friday night and Saturday, 'some possibly heavy'.

Does also say between these phases there will be dry, breezy weather with sunshine.

Disclaimer - 2019s one was full of nonsense about thunderstorms.

Just can't relax, can you?!

Slight deviation but how do you think the entry level Sports Direct walking boots fare if it's a bit muddy? Used them for dry hikes and they're comfy enough but not sure how weather-proof they'll be!

Probably OK for this weekend - bit of a risk for a real mudfest

Put them on and stand in a 10cm deep body of water for 10 mins and you'll find out.

It's all we need to know (this was the closest I could get).

At last a Scottish forecast I can understand, much better than all those complicated maps. It’s taps aff in a Glastonbury beer garden at the moment

BBC updated for the better again: Pilton - BBC Weather

Looks perfect to me. Typical Glasto weather and not 2017 hot and dusty where everyone had to be out of their tents and it was crazy busy on the paths.

We should rejoice and give thanks to the weather Gods. See you all tomorrow. x

I actually have no idea what Kool-Aid BBC are drinking here when all the Runs/other sites suggest some rain will at least hit, they're either smashed this or going to have eggs on their face very soon. Hoping to the Weather Gods it's the former!
