On to the festival proper then.

FRIDAY

There is a band of rain that pushes across the UK in the early hours. It will bring a bit of a soaking for the start of the main stages. Dry after this.

Highs of just 18 now.

The two most recent pressure charts are slightly different now (most recent on the left).

There's definitely heart to be taken from the fact this weekend's rain which was forecasted to be biblical a few days ago has gone.

Same could quite feasibly happen with any rain forecasted for over a week's time...

You're telling me, that forecasting weather is an imperfect science and previously confident predictions of weather even a few days out, can be wrong?!?!?

I've wasted my life...

Just a reminder on that Friday rain - it's still eight days away. The weather in the next few days looks far better than initial predictions, meaning it's very likely now that ground will be dry when we arrive. Still a while to go until we know the actual weather during the festival.

So whats the point of the weather forecast that far out then?

not exactly a washout, 20% chance of light rain

BBC now showing rain on Fri.

Although looking at the picture it's an up to 20% chance of rain. Maybe it's just me but that's hardly something to get too worked up over. We live in Britain there's always a chance of rain.

SUNDAY

A dry day! But max temps of just 17...

And now the low is getting pushed out of the way. In this run, the low basically sits over Glasto just for the duration of the festival!

This is actually a worse run than the last one (on the right) with the low more in command on the Sunday.

SUMMARY

Another rubbish run, with a nice start but it all turning to crap for the festival proper.

But, remember, this is all TOO EARLY. Let's hope for better in 5 hours and some sterling work from the high to the south.
