The Weather Thread 2022

I'm guessing this weekend would be quite the wild ride given the heatwave for today/tomorrow followed by 2 days of a lot of rain. Or at least that's what my local weather forecast is saying.

Can presume anyone packing for Isle of Wight this weekend might need a big bag.

FRIDAY

Dry during the day, no rain for the site, highs of 17. Though there will be some rain late in the evening and overnight, but it doesn't look like much.

And a very similar situation with that stinking low again. Is there any hope of a weekend fight back in the 12Z? Latest on the left.

Am I right in thinking that low pressure doesn't necessarily mean rain, but it means a lower likelihood of predictable and pleasant weather?

From what I can tell reading this thread...

High pressure = excruciating heat, zero moisture. Hell.

Low pressure = build the ark...

That huge high pressure on the left will have won by next Wednesday

This is the only hope. I'll go with the theory that it's better to be a crap forecast now for when it inevitably changes next week.

An absolute shitshow of a run. Low hanging round all Sunday as well.

😂😂

It was just from a quick Google that I got my definition but human interpretation is so much better... And that's what I could make out. Low pressure essentially gives prime conditions for clouds and then rain, but it also doesn't seem to mean low pressure equals rain?
