The Weather Thread 2022

GFS' are still up and down but there's definitely now signs of us seeing the 'range' of weather we're looking at - cool temps but dry. Rain this weekend might make the ground a bit sticky on Tues/Weds but think we're looking at a pretty decent one, overall! Be in our trainers by Friday, shorts all week.

We'll see, still taking my wellies. Just feels like this late heavy rain will make a mess as the site build is being finished. Maybe not if a lot of the heavy stuff is done already! Sure any mud will soon dry, though.

Right then, let's see what the 12Z has to offer...

WEEKEND

There is rain around still on the Sunday, but nothing of any real note.

WEDNESDAY MORNING - GATES OPEN

It is then completely dry through to the gates opening on Wednesday morning. Good temps of 18.

THE HIGHS AND THE LOWS

But what is happening to the high vs. low battle? The high is doing much better in this run, and keeping the low to the north.

WEDNESDAY

A dry day with nice temperatures of 20.

The low is starting to press down. It's all to play for.

THURSDAY

Dry, but temps down a little to 18.

But there is good news under the hood! High pressure is fighting back!

FRIDAY

Dry, highs of 19.

High pressure continues to hold its own.

SATURDAY

Dry, highs of 19.

The low is not fighting back this time.

SUNDAY

Totally dry, but a chillier day at 16.

image.thumb.png.f036a5871c663a66941dfc6aba03dd0d.png

Absolutely no impression from the low.

MONDAY

Showing from around 3am through the morning for pack up.

SUMMARY

A run which a LOT of people will be delighted with. No rain (apart from the very, very end), and comfortable temperatures with no danger from the low pressure.

The Sunday will definitely be on the chillier side at 16 though, so I'd definitely want to see that improve.

But it does seem like the trend of lower pressure at the start of next week being pushed away is starting to be the dominant trend. Still a low way to go though until we find out our fate.

yeah...that low just moves to the west a bit and we're fucked.

High versus low still looks in the balance for festival itself (and we're still outside a reliable timeframe for that, right?), but the run-up is looking increasingly good.

We MIGHT be entering the realms of being fairly sure of avoiding a total mudfest from the off, right?  In my book that's a win.

Yeah the initial sat/sun/Mon downpours seem to have disappeared and as we get closer to gates opening on wednesday and confidence increases in the forecast it seems more and more unlikely that the ground will be in bad shape on arrival which would be the first major battle won in the weather war.
