I’m packing extra blankets. We’ll be needing Sherpas and Huskies as well to get us across site.

The silver foil people take to keep tents cool can now be used as emergency blankets

Right, a new day means a new 00Z. How will we do?

THIS WEEKEND

The Pilton force-field is in full effect as the rain goes east, with hardly anything hitting the site.

image.thumb.png.0ca3903e8e2e7fb4225830b55089b86b.png

WEDNESDAY - GATES OPEN

There is a very small amount of rain overnight, and dry for gates open but poor temps of 12.

image.thumb.png.d9a074041ff7b85933d7e42756682d99.png

So, does this mean the low is winning? Yep, unfortunately it's pushing down and high pressure is not in control in this run.

image.png.9f047a5f26a3907a600d32d8be9404fc.png

So, what will it be like the first two days?

WEDNESDAY

Dry, max temps of just 17.

image.thumb.png.01ccf63e2ee01503a83cb12b0859872d.png

The low pressure is still dangerously close.

image.png.c4df98653999573c729954efbf638177.png

THURSDAY

Another dry day with max of 18, but the low pressure is still building.....

image.png.e86c3ea3092b09f189385f90b09f7f1b.png

So, what will the festival itself be like?

FRIDAY

Colder today, with highs of just 15, but dry. The low is kept at bay.

image.png.633333fb43d6922baa117076c6e3f68b.png

SATURDAY

Small amount of rain around, high of just 15. The low is pretty static.

image.png.8c66a99d5c340a3f1f3e8c2a598ac8ad.png

SUNDAY

Dry day, highs of 17 so still not great. High is starting to build.

image.thumb.png.2976b5497bfab8b4d46c59e4d79a9590.png

image.png.c56a6f7ae360bf1a0142ab6d2e34dbfc.png

SUMMARY

One of the driest runs we've had, though there is the small amount of rain on the Saturday.

However, it's also one of the coldest runs we've had. The high doesn't build in until Monday and by Wednesday temps are 27.

For me, far too cold. Get those temps up.

Dancing will keep your temps up, dont know why this is so bad. Ill take it. Although can we get rid of the stupid temps in London this Friday?

Highs of 15 could is without any wind chill. Say it hits 11 degrees around 9pm with a bit of wind. Thats coat weather.

I'd be absolutely fine with this. Packing term t-shirt though.

That low is a bit scary, it can change everything.

GEFS Ensembles Chart

For the weather bods - is there a relationship between the sudden drop in temperatures this weekend and the subsequent divergence of the lines, beyond the fact that they're a further away in time? Is there something about the breakdown that's inherently chaotic? And once we're past that change in the weather, do we expect things to become more predictable? I.e. when next week starts, do we expect to have a fair degree of certainty of the festival weather conditions?

Good year for late nights it looks like.  No hot hot morning sun to force you awake and out of your tent, for us non-fresh/black types, so hopefully able to get recharged and make the most of our Glastonburys.

But it could all change!

Weather for the week ahead on the beeb looked faaaaaakin grim for this weekend… so if this does miss whilst I’m on site building… 🙏

As has been said previously, prepared to take one for the team to keep you petals dry during the week. 😘

Ive done Coachella with 40 in the day and then 12 at night with dust storm level winds just In shorts and a hoodie. Ive got a scarf and a couple of layers for next week, piece of cake.

Also, gold Bond is the chaffing solution!

Depends how sunny it is with those temperatures. 15 could easily feel like 20 if it’s sunny, but the nights would be chilly. Still think it’s unlikely we’d have so many consecutive days of well below average temperatures though, it’ll warm up.

Seems to be at its worst overnight from Saturday into Sunday - but not great news if Sunday is the main arrival day.
