The Weather Thread 2022

And a few quotes from 2020 include:

perfect festival weather. It is warm, slightly hazy rather than beating sun, with a very light breeze.

it’s raining but bright. Slight wind too. Looks like it would have been a rain coat on/ rain coat off kinda day.

still a lovely temperature.

The ground is still hard. Just a couple of sharp showers, otherwise a bright sunny breezy day. Perfect.

this morning is bright, cloudy but patches of blue which look promising. No rain.

BBC just updated

Big battle between high and low pressure.

Its going one way or the other - either nice, or a complete washout mudbath poo storm of feral malodorous excrement.

https://www.bbc.com/weather/outlook

Unsettled, "spells of rain".

Monday 20 June to – Sunday 3 July

The forecast is very sensitive to the location of the high pressure. Should high pressure set up across Greenland, then the main Atlantic storm track would likely move more directly across northwest Europe. This would bring a wetter and windier pattern.

That’s positive from you … hints of good weather 🙂

Thunderstorms are very localised but devastating if they hit you. For me its all about the queue in plus pitch that is the vulnerable window. After that the rest is manageable.

Precisely that. Putting a tent up in the rain is, forgive my language here, fucking misery.
However when it’s up, it’s quite nice sitting in the dry with a can, looking at other people swearing at their poles and the tiny little wet envelopes they’ve got to fit in 😂

If r**n does look likely then waterproof all your kit. Clothes double wrapped in large freezer bags, double bin liners for larger stuff like pillows etc. Spare bin liners or even a small tarp for covering up your gear whilst pitching the tent.

It’s hard to avoid getting a bit of wet inside if it’s properly tipping it down whilst you’re pitching, but getting everything soaked is avoidable. 😉

Really good. As it was in 2019, 2018 and 2017.

6 years in a row?!

We’ve had this discussion… weather in 2020 was good Wednesday, Thursday and Friday daytime but shat it down Friday night, was windy and showery Saturday and Sunday was dry but had stage shutting velocity winds.
