Gnomicide
Melvin Benn was added as a director back in November. I've not seen anything on this, I wonder what the reasoning behind this is.

Looking at the full set of changes on Companies House, it appears Melvin is a direct replacement for Paul Latham, who was President of Live Nation UK until he retired in 2018. Be interesting to see if it has any practical upshot. Hopefully not.
Neil
from whaat you'/ve said here it soundsto me like the council(again) want the licenceee to be somone with something to lose, that was the original reason for the festival getting melvin

Niche. Did you know they only made 13 episodes?
FakeEmpire
Given that he put on Download Pilot and Latitude as "test events", his involvement and government contacts definitely help the festival prepare for going ahead even under restrictions. 1

Was thinking about this the other day. Even though its 99% that everything runs this summer the festival could apply to be a test event regardless so theres no issues and they can press on
found home in 2009
Why is he so hated? Is it just because he became involved around the time the fence went up? Was watching the Lost Vagueness documentary and thought he seemed fairly chilled and reasonable when Roy was going off on one.

For me at least it's more to do with his other festivals - which often are the exact opposite of everything good about Glastonbury. The less influence we get from those, the better.
