Just seen London Overground are now striking on the 19th along with the tubes.

surely Gorillaz has to get cancelled now? With no tubes or overground trains serving the whole of London it will be ridiculous expecting c. 60k people to get buses out of the area after the show?

I live in SW London, would be easier for me to sleep on a bench somewhere than go home and come back the next day for the field day date 🤣

Yeah I saw this yesterday, SUCH a faff. Could have been okay if the overground was running but genuinely will be chaos now. I really wouldn’t be surprised if loads of people just didn’t turn up.

I’ll probably not go, there are usually SOME trains running with non union drivers on strike days but getting back would be ridiculous. If the strikes don’t get called off or the gig moved, I think I’ll be out for sure.

Still won't quite believe it til I get the tickets but hopefully all will be well. Nice to have saved myself £60!

Ah nice they let you choose. Hopefully I can get my National tickets!

It's two tickets btw right? Assumed it would be since you have to tag your mate.

Think coming from Kent I should be able to do Stratford and walk from there

Didn't Coldplay get moved because the event couldn't be licensed on the original date due to the strikes? Could end up being similar for that day or cancelled altogether

Think that was overground strikes too

I can't see any realistic way of holding it when people just.. can't actually get to the park.

The "catchment area" in East London for people that are both a) ticketholders and b) able to walk to it would be about a quarter of all attendees, at a guess based on usual make-up of these sorts of London festivals. If you live/are staying south of the river, or somewhere far west (likely given the hotel prices in central London), you're almost certainly not going to get there.

These strikes have really fucked it, haven't they?

That’s the aim!

The friend who I’m hoping to go with (still haven’t got tickets, hoping I can get them for cheaper if the Gorillaz day happens at all!) lives about a 2 minutes walk from the park, which may turn out to be incredibly lucky!

I personally think strikes need to change. They need to work the way the Japanese bus driver strikes went. Have the workers come in and still work, but don't charge anything.

You then don't inconvenience the normal people, but you royally fuck the companies that are hoarding all of the money.

Also, bagsy your mate's floor if you've claimed the sofa.

where'd ya hear that?

2nd/3rd from top that day, quite a big pull out, boo

Their instagram, the lead singer has had a bad flare of Crohn’s and has to go for surgery. Shame as I was looking forward to them but health first always.
