How did you go to a gig on the Monday?! I couldn't wait to be in bed and was asleep by 8:30 🤦‍♂️

not going to lie, to wasn't easy and it was horrifically hot and overcrowded. But fortunately they only played for about an hour.

How long do you think until we know if we got away with it? I’m testing (negative) daily. Do you think if I’m still negative on Friday that it will be ok? Did quite a lot of sets in the big top!

The incubation period of the delta variant is still around five days so if you're not symptomatic by Saturday you're probably ok.

Interestingly Green Man only reported 71 cases linked to the festival, which is much lower than community transmission.

I got back an hour or so ago and have just had a positive lateral flow test.

On no - hope you get well soon 🤞

Just about to do a test, hopefully ok, but it is a worry given how many people I know who got ill after recent festivals - my son and just about everyone he knew got it a Boardmasters, two of our group got it at Latitude. I got something nasty at Latitude, that left me with a lingering cough that I still have, but 2 negative PCRs so some other less horrible thing.

After all that I was one of the very few people with a mask on in the big top and tipi this weekend, especially as got a trip to the channel islands in a couple days! 🤞 again...

Good luck to you especially with your planned trip.

Double vaxed and I avoided the tented stages all weekend. Had a negative LF test on Sunday night. Looks like a good idea to test more this week though.

Same here. It was a bit disappointing for me as I normally go with family (6yo son) where Big Top/Tipi aren't the most kid friendly, thus have mostly avoided them the last few years. This year was a solo mission hence was looking forward to paying both a visit, but avoided them for similar reasons as I am 'on the vulnerable list' due to long-term immune system meds.

Although I appreciate EOTR were trying to run as 'normal' a festival as possible, I thought they could have perhaps open-sided alternate panels on the Big Top to improve ventilation, just as a one-off. Alas not to be.

I'll be Lateral Flow testing every other day until Saturday to make sure I'm OK ... negative so far.

As an aside, Lateral Flow would be a great album title, if someone doesn't pick up on it I will write a strongly worded email to the NME! 😀

I think Pearl Jam got closest with their track title 'Even Flow' 🙂

Would have led to major sound bleed issues and it could also be specified in the licence.

Nowhere else this summer came as close to the airlessness (word?) and heat / humidity that the Big Top did. Not the 6music at Latitude, not the Far Out - and both were similarly warm to EOTR. Mind you neither of those has the enclosed 'tube' entrances that EOTR does.

Is it really simply a function of managing sound bleed linked to licence? And the compromise we make for such a compact site? To be fair sound quality in there was pretty good for me 😛

ps even if you feel okay, getting a PCR test is dead easy, and so much more reliable early on than LFT. It's a slight 'blag' perhaps, but NHS test booking allows you to select without symptoms if you have attended a 'test / research event' (Latitude was actually a formal one), and in my head that's exactly what festivals are .... (Latitude was actually a formal one).

We don't have your fancy lateral flow stuff here so got a PCR yesterday as a "just in case" after doing the coach airplane combo and got a negative result there.  They did say that it'll take 3-5 days from exposure to show so I'll need another again at the weekend to clear me for the last day and trip home.  Id be fairly surprised if I caught it at the festival after avoiding crowds/tents.  The coach back had a lot of freefacers though.
