Ty Segall is in Europe around the time so it makes sense.

I'll probably cry during the Low set if they play. They are easily my favourite band.

Yeah, I don't think it's been mentioned in this thread but Parquet Courts, Ty Segall, Alex G and Viagra Boys are all named for Paredes de Coura that weekend - also playing from the US are King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, BADBADNOTGOOD, Yves Tumor and Indigo De Souza, plus the Murder Capital who were announced for GM 2020 but obviously didn't play last year. The thread in International Festivals suggest there may be another announcement very soon.

Sudan Archives is at All Points East the next weekend. One other to add from 2020 is Agnes Obel, whose announced European dates have a 17th-23rd August gap. Lucinda Williams has nothing listed for GM weekend but is in America the week after.

Hoping for an announcement on Monday saying first line up drop coming this Friday and then some line up clues coming Wed/Thur

Well, there's been an announcement about... birdwatching.

Basing this on nothing more than their name being bandied about, but I wonder if IDLES are headlining and GM have been told to hold off announcing until after their UK tour ends on 5th February.

Lol there was a funny comment underneath that on Twitter.

Could be a reason, yeah. I’m sure IDLES will be a popular choice generally speaking.

Wishlist: Bikini Kill, Cassandra Jenkins, Jenny Hval, Anna Von Hausswolff, Anna B Savage, Dan Deacon, Arooj Aftab, L’Rain, Caroline Polachek, Les Savy Fav, Weyes Blood, Low, Audiobooks, Gazelle Twin.

Wow I know literally no one on your wishlist! Desperately need some Spotify playlists eh?

Beach House are nailed on as one of the headliners given their dates but can't call the others.

Hoping also for some ace British electronic stuff dotted around like they did last time – Forest Swords, The Bug, etc would all be great for some deep grooving in those late slots once it's dark and the headliners are done.

Idles could be an uninspiring choice but I'm sure they'd be popular and will go down a storm! Who else would you suggest?

I think Beach House are probably the pick of the current leading bunch.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Animal Collective are two of my outside bets for headliners.

Lobbing Bonobo's name in the ring.

Ahh yeah I was thinking the same last week!

Is there also a possibility of Super Furry Animals?  I don’t think there’s any indication of them touring but they have an anniversary of Rings Around The World with a reissue.

I feel like Little Simz tour dates are perfect for GM but I’m not 100% convinced they’d go for her as a headliner.  I’m not sure whether playing Reading Festival affects the chances or not - I’m assuming not.

I can see her in the Saturday night slot.

She's very, very good live. Imagine the horns of Introvert pumping out from the speakers on the Mountain Stage to announce her arrival.

It would be glorious!!

The reason I said that though is that there are hardly ever (maybe never?) any hip hop acts at GM.  That said, I think she is incredibly popular with GM’s demographic in general so I think it would go down brilliantly.

They booked Loyle Carner in Chai Wallahs in 2015. To be honest I barely go in there so not sure if they have had other hip hop?

Parquet Courts, Ty Segall, BADBADNOTGOOD and Alex G are nailed on now surely for some of the bigger names on the undercard.

There’s usually a lot of crossover and this can extend pretty high up (although never to headliners). I’m hoping Sudan Archives and Nilufer Yanya are also at GM.  Quite a lot of the other names lower down will also be at GM for sure.

They defo wont share headliners so all four of them are out the picture.

They don't share artists in the first few rows of the graphic, not even last year when it would have been excused (and Simon from EOTR has talked about the two working closer together for it), so GM almost certainly isn't getting Morby, Dacus etc. That said I'm intrigued by the inclusion of Sudan Archives, who was to play in 2020.
